Distance:

13 miles

Grade:

Moderate/hard.

Start:

Ballindalloch Station

Finish:

Grantown on Spey

Circular options:

There is no overall circular option, but circuits can be made based on Cromdale and Grantown on Spey.

Terrain:

This is probably the hardest section of the route, with numerous gradients, rough and sometimes wet ground and two streams to cross (stepping stones) These may be difficult to cross in flood conditions. Good footwear and a reasonable level of fitness required. Many Rambler stiles

All abilities?

No, at least not between Ballindalloch and Pollowick. From Pollowick to Grantown on Spey, the terrain is flatter and the ground conditions are better.

Multi-use?

No. Ground conditions make the use of the section from Ballindalloch to Pollowick by either bicvcles or horses unsustainable.
