The Libraries Service assists authors in the publication and promotion of books about Moray.
Invitation to Authors
Any writers who meet the criteria or who require further information should contact the Libraries and Museums Manager.
In addition the Libraries Service is also interested in publishing books and pamphlets about the locality.
If you are interested in contributing to this publications programme please do not hesitate to contact the Libraries and Museums Manager.
Criteria for Assistance
The scheme applies to publications of significance to Moray.
The copyright and responsibility for publication remains with the author.
All requests should be accompanied by full details of projected costs of production, anticipated sales, the proposed publisher and printer, and full details of any other sponsorship received or anticipated.
Assistance is restricted to publication costs only and will not exceed £500 or 50% of the publication costs, whichever is lower.
Where the publication covers an area greater than Moray, the proportion of assistance given will reflect the coverage given to Moray within the whole work.
An assessment of the suitability of the proposed publication will be carried out by the Libraries Service.
Any publication assisted by the scheme must carry full acknowledgement of The Moray Council’s support.
No monies will be paid until the submission of paid certificated accounts and proof that any editorial conditions have been
met.
Copies of the publication will be made available for sale through the Council’s Libraries, Museums and on-line shop.
