Joint Moray Economic Development Strategy

The Moray Joint Economic Development Strategy sets out the aims and priorities of the Council and Highlands and Islands Enterprise Moray and provides the basis for partnership in economic development.
The strategy sets out a series of priorities and aims for future economic development in Moray.

We are very pleased to be associated with the publication of the Joint Moray Economic Development Strategy. It follows in-depth analysis undertaken on the Moray economy and substantial input by the area’s stakeholders through the major seminar held in 1998. The joint strategy will provide the cornerstone for economic development work by our respective organisations.

In pursuing the joint strategy The Moray Council and HIE Moray formerly Moray, Badenoch and Strathspey Enterprise have committed themselves to:

  • the creation of a formal partnership structure to oversee and monitor its further development and implementation
  • the development of processes and a programme for the efficient and effective utilisation of information and resources to promote economic development.

We recognise that future success in economic development in Moray depends upon effective partnership with its businesses and organisations. Therefore, the further development of the joint strategy into actions and initiatives will build upon our current partnership approach so that those with an interest in the future economic prosperity of Moray can contribute to meeting the new challenges which lie ahead.
