All sorts of people are able to ask to be assessed as foster carers:-

• Employed / unemployed / retired

• Couples / single people

• With or without children

• From all ethnic backgrounds or religions

• Home owners or tenants

We are looking for people who have time, patience and flexibility. You will also need to have space in your home and a willingness to work closely with the Social Work Department. If you have any specific queries – maybe health issues or at sometime in the past you have been charged with offences, you can discuss these with a social worker at an early stage.

People who have been charged and / or convicted of offences against children will not be assessed as potential carers.
