Communal Recycling Points for Flats
In properties which may not have space for the boxes, recycling bags are provided to allow householders to recycle their food
& drink cans, glass bottles & jars and paper-based products at Communal Recycling Points.
All the same materials listed in the blue and orange box sections can be recycled in the Communal can, glass and paper recycling points. All colours of glass can be recycled in the glass CONTAINERS.
The Communal Recycling Points are open 24 hours a day. Please be courteous to other residents and try not to use the Recycling Points during unsociable hours.
Most flats are not provided with a garden waste bin (brown bin). However, ground floor flats with gardens can be provided with these bins where necessary.
As with the Blue and Orange box scheme, this Kerbside Recycling service allows you to recycle most of your household waste. Therefore, collection of your normal household waste bin has now changed from weekly to fortnightly.
Households served by the scheme have been issued with calendars to remind people of the dates of each bin collection. If you have not received a copy of these calendars please call 01343 557 045 or Email waste@moray.gov.uk.
Over the Christmas and New Year period, there will be an increase in the collection of household waste bins. Please see local press for details nearer the time.
For more information about this service, or if you are not sure if your property is served by the Kerbside Recycling scheme, please call 01343 557 045 or Email waste@moray.gov.uk.
Recycling in Rural Areas
Householders who are not served by the Kerbside Recycling service will see no change to their current collection service.
Provisions have been made to increase the number of rural recycling points across Moray, please see Recycling Centres and Points section for further details.
