How Long will it Take for a Decision to be Made
Our target for issuing a decision is eight weeks from the date of receiving a valid application.
Please complete and return four copies of the Application Form D1. This form is available from your local Council Access Point
Certificate of Neighbour Notifications
This certificate must be completed with the addresses of all adjoining proprietors, method of notification and signed and dated, where required – a guide to the Neighbour Notification process is available from your local Council Access Point.
Please complete and return one copy of the "Certificate of Neighbour Notifications".
Notice for Neighbour Notification
This notice must be served on owners/occupiers of neighbouring land.
Six copies of the "Notice for Neighbour Notification" form will be required.
This notice must be served on the owner and or any agricultural tenant of the application site.
Two "Notice Under Section 35" forms must be completed.
Location Plans must be to a scale of at least 1:2500. These can be provided by the Council. Please refer to our leaflet – Note for Applicants (PDF format, 1 page, 76.7 KB) for more information.
Six sets of the Location Plans are required.

Plans for new buildings or for an extention or renovation
These plans should be coloured to show new works and drawn to scale OR for very simple proposals fully dimensional drawings may be acceptable. Please refer to our leaflet – Note for Applicants (PDF format, 1 page, 76.7 KB)
Six copies of competent plans including elevations/sections as necessary. Additional plans may be requested to assist with consultation.

Payment must be paid before an application can be considered. Contact us Tel: 01343 563270 for information about fees. Fees may need to be calculated.
If an application is for a Disabled Person, a letter confirming disability should be obtained from an Occupational Therapist or Doctor and submitted with the application. This may result in reduction or waiver of fee.
Porosity tests may be required for new dwellinghouses. On registration of an application a septic tank note will be sent to the applicant.
