The Moray Council has adopted webcast technology as part of a strategy to involve more people in the democratic processes of local government by allowing greater accessibility to Council Committee meetings.
This technology uses the Internet to broadcast video transmission. Anyone with access to the Internet can log on to view
meetings at a time and location to suit themselves. The computer you use will require Windows Media software, a sound card
and speakers.
Please Note: Based on a 56kbps modem, downloading Windows Media can take up to 30 minutes.
Cameras have been installed within The Moray Council chamber for a pilot period of 2 years. Webcasted meetings are transmitted live and then loaded onto the website as soon as possible after each meeting for viewing at a later date. These archived webcasts are available for 6 months thereafter.
During the pilot the Council has mainly broadcasted Environmental Services Committee meetings, however a decision was made recently to webcast the 14th February Educational Services Committee due to the anticipated public interest in the meeting.
