Building Standards and Planning Permission

Before it is possible to erect a new building, convert a building to another use or alter, extend or demolish an existing building you may require Planning Permission and require to comply with Building Regulations.

What you can find out from the search facility

The service may not be available between 11pm and 3am, Apologises for any inconvenience.

You may check the progress of your application for Planning Permission or Building Warrant and find out about development and applications in your area by using the online search facility. This provides up to the minute information regarding applications for both Building Warrant and Planning Permission that have been received by the council and entered into our computerised system. This will give you the ability to search via the address or even use the on line maps to search visually. The system holds any important dates and the decision if it has been made.

Local Land and Property Gazetteer

The Local Land and Property Gazetteer Team look after the address information held within the Planning and Building Standards computerised system. If you are unable to find your property using the Planning and Building Standards  online search or you feel the information is incorrect please contact them on 01343 563294 or Email llpg@moray.gov.uk. When making applications and you are unsure of the correct address, please contact the Local Land and Property Gazetteer Team, as they will be able to advise you and help avoid any unnecessary delays.
