The private rented sector makes up almost 14% of all Moray's total housing stock and has a vital role to play in providing good quality accommodation and meeting housing need.
The Council carried out research during the summer of 2005 to obtain more detailed information about the sector and how it could help the Council in meeting housing need.

The Council is in the process of developing a strategy for the private rented sector. This is to ensure that landlords in Moray are aware of the responsibilities that they have (and will have in the future), and information and advice available to them to ensure that the accommodation on offer is of a high standard.
