Moray Training - Training For Work

TFW Project

25 + There are various types of training available under this option:

Project based training is for the client who wishes to learn new skills or enhance existing skills within outdoor related work. These clients are allocated by Training staff to one of our Training Squads. A Personal Training Plan is completed and they work under the daily supervision of the Training Supervisor, and their training/certification is provided/facilitated by the Training Officer, who monitors them on a 4 weekly cycle. The daily work is mainly for The Moray Council; The Access Project, the Speyside Way and the Council’s Countryside Amenities Service. Squads carry out work Path Laying, Fencing etc., but private work is also undertaken where it may have a training, community or social benefit.

TFW Placement

Placement based training is when the client is placed within an employers premises, where they work towards gaining work experience and possibly an appropriate qualification. It is anticipated that this will proceed to sustainable employment for the individual concerned.

Prospects for Work

Prospects for Work is when the company employs the client. As the client had previously been unemployed the company is eligible to receive financial assistance with salary costs to cover any potential training expenses for a maximum of twelve weeks commencing on the individuals start date with the company.

Short Term Courses

Short Term Courses is for client’s who require to gain a specific qualification prior to taking up employment. Financial assistance is available for the individual, who has written proof of an offer of employment from an Employer on achieving this qualification, e.g. Offshore Survival, HGV Licence, Driving Licence etc.
