Freedom of Information - How to access information within the Publication Scheme

The Publication Scheme is divided into seven general categories. Within these general categories there are Classes of Information which the Council intend to routinely publish:

  • Jobs
  • Learning
  • Leisure
  • Community
  • Business
  • The Council
  • Environment

There is a comprehensive index of all publications with these Classes of Information at Appendix I. Each publication entry in Appendix I describes the type of information, the format this is available in, how you can access the information and any charges that apply.

With regards to publications which change regularly (policies, plans, structures etc) the most up to date version will appear. Some publications (e.g. Committee Minutes) will be available for a wide range of dates.

Most of the information within the Publication Scheme is also retrievable directly from the list. This may be the quickest and most useful way of searching form information which you are interested in. If you do not have access to the Internet you may use PCs located at the Council’s Access Points and Libraries free of charge. A list of these is attached at Appendix 1. Alternatively send an e-mail to info@moray.gov.uk or contact the Council’s Corporate Policy Unit, Council Offices, High Street, Elgin IV30 1BX telephone 01343 563601 or 01343 563110

The Council’s website is being improved and expanded. Some information within the Publication Scheme is only available in paper format at the moment but we aim to have as much information as possible available in electronic format. We can also provide information on CD where the electronic format would take too long for you to download or this would involve excessive copying.
