Publication Scheme Explained

The  Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002  [link to HMSO FOI Act 2002]:

  • Requires the Council to maintain a Publication Scheme setting out the information which it routinely makes available.
  • From 1 January 2005, gives the public a more general right of access to all types of recorded information held by the Council, subject to certain exceptions (such as protecting personal information and commercially sensitive information - see para 6 below)
