The proposal is for a synthetic turf pitch that can be made accessible to the local primary and secondary schools in the Forres area. | ||

Present Status
|
The need for a synthetic turf pitch in the Forres area has been clearly identified. Unfortunately, no progress has recently been made in developing this initiative. This is largely due to significant issues relating to identifying a suitable site. The facility not only requires to be accessible to secondary school pupils for curricular use but also available to the public out-with school times. The only location meeting these criteria and large enough to accommodate a full sized facility is Roysvale Park. Enclosing a synthetic pitch at this location will however attract considerable objections. |

If progress is to be made with this project, it is likely that significant compromises will have to be made in relation to its possible location and/or size. As part of the community planning process, it is proposed to consult with local community stakeholders for the purpose of identifying a suitable location. |
