This project was funded by Youthlink Scotland to give young people the opportunity to communicate and express themselves while
addressing literacies issues and developing multi-media skills and techniques in 9 areas of Scotland.
In Moray this project resulted in a group of young women in Lhanbryde producing a collection of books and a piece of poetry.
Each participant was given a laptop to work on at home and through sessions with storyteller Margot Henderson and working
with a literacies tutor, the work produced was varied. Some of the participants produced books for their young children. One
wrote a true story sharing her experience of being pregnant at 13 and another, as well as writing a story for her children,
also wrote and illustrated a poem about smoking (PDF format 99.5KB. This link opens in a new window)
While the Lhanbryde group chose to focus their work on using ICT to produce books another participant from Forres produced a DVD on his experience of being homeless.
