Meals on Wheels

General Information

The Meals on Wheels Service provides a hot meal for vulnerable people living in their own homes. A two course hot meal is delivered by WRVS volunteers to service users in their own homes.

Meals are provided on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at lunch time throughout the year.

Assessments

People wishing to access the service must undergo a community care assessment of need.

Your GP, Community Nurse, or Hospital Ward staff can ask for an assessment on your behalf or application can be made directly to the  of the Moray Council.

A charge of around £2.60 per meal is made. There is no charge for the delivery of meals.

What happens if I do not require a meal?

If a meal is for a particular day(s) let the person who delivers the meals know in advance so that it can be cancelled. No charge is made for meals cancelled in advance
