The Service is run by CHILDREN 1st in partnership with the Moray Council. It is an independent and confidential service although confidentiality is not guaranteed
where a child may be in danger

What does the Children and Young People’s Rights Worker do?

She can provide information and advice on children and young people’s rights

She can support children and young people to have their views heard in matters that affect them

She can support them to put forward their views on the services they receive

Who can use the Children and Young People’s Rights Service?
 |
- Young people who are living away from home in foster care, children’s homes or residential schools
-
Young people who attend meetings such as Children’s Hearings, Looked After Child Reviews, education reviews, Child Protection
Case Conferences, Integrated Assessment and Planning meetings, Fostering and Adoption Panels etc.

Young people who wish to appeal an exclusion from school or a change in their Educational Maintenance Allowance

Young people who would like support to speak to adults about their additional support needs, problems with bullying, living
with domestic abuse etc.

Young people who would like support to make a complaint.
