The Moray Development Plan comprises two distinct aspects:
The Moray Structure Plan
The Moray Structure Plan
(36 pages, 253 KB) which sets out the strategic framework for the way in which Moray should develop.
The Moray Local Plan
Local Plans convert Structure Plan proposals to a more local level and contain specific policies and land use allocations for towns and villages.
There are two Local Plans covering Moray.
The Moray Local Plan 2000 operates in the southern part, which lies within the Cairngorms National Park Area. The Park Board is in the process of preparing it's own Local Plan, but until it does, the Moray Local Plan 2000 remains in force.
The balance of Moray is covered by the Moray Local Plan 2008.
Supplementary guidance in support of some Local Plan policies has been produced and can be viewed at Guidance and Strategies.
Draft Guidance onDeveloper Requirements for Housing is currently out for consultation, and comments can be submitted by Friday 28th August 2009 in writing using thisform and send to Mark Cross, Principal Planning Officer, Planning & Development, The Moray Council, High Street, Elgin IV30 1BX or email mark.cross@moray.gov.uk
